“Over the years, Obama administration officials have described Netanyahu to me as recalcitrant, myopic, reactionary, obtuse, blustering, pompous, and “Aspergery.” (These are verbatim descriptions; I keep a running list.)  But I had not previously heard Netanyahu described as a “chickens**t.” I thought I appreciated the implication of this description, but it turns out I didn’t have a full understanding. From time to time, current and former administration officials have described Netanyahu as a national leader who acts as though he...

Avi Issacharoff is a very good commentator and we enjoy most of his work, but frankly, his left turns leave us a bit put off.

Below is a recent example, and we thought a few of our comments might add a new perspective.

One capital, two deeply divided cities

As Hamas tries to spark an intifada in East Jerusalem and the Temple Mount, Israeli police aren’t making matters any better

Avi Issacharoff, The Times of Israel

The sign hanging [see above] outside the Silwan home of Abdelrahman al-Shaludi, the terrorist...

East Jerusalem is not “all Arab” or Palestinian as you choose. It is a mix of Israelis and Arabs. But the Hamas terrorists are inciting riots, and upheaval. And they are using primarily Palestinian young people on the front lines, as witnessed by the youth in the photo here.

For decades this has been happening. It is a show of bravado, a way to impress the sloe-eyed girls of the neighborhoods, and a way – at times – to an early grave. Even rubber bullets can kill if a person is hit in the right spot.

And the “rock throwing” reported in many...

Looking like a US Army convoy from the mid-60s, a Lebanese army group moves down a highway in the nation that seems about to be pushed into a war they probably cannot win.

Lebanon has never waged war against Israel. That’s not to say that Israel hasn’t been at war on Lebanese soil. Up until 1982 General Ariel Sharon had certainly made his mark on the land battling the PLO and Hezbollah.

Since then there has been intermittent wars, including the 2006-2007 war that saw much of Beirut in rubble.

Now it looks like Hezbollah is once more going to bring...

This is a photo of Libyan militia members.

Look like some crazy NYC gun thugs don’t they? Not surprising since the Internet has influenced everybody so much.

Militants, militias, terrorists. There is a difference.

For instance, the US has lots of militias scattered around the country. Some are way out there, and some are just guys who like their camo and guns. We aren’t talking about them.

But in the Middle East and Pacific Rim there are also militias.

In the Middle East when one speaks of...

We’ve heard the stories before. A young girl goes online and falls in love with some man who is aligned with ISIS. She decides to move to the theater where he’s located.

Sometimes her move is caught in time and she is forbidden to make the move.

But now word comes from France that a French-Jewish girl of seventeen is the “target.” But the story gets worse.

“A young French Jewish girl was radicalized, became an anti-Semite, planned a terrorist attack at her parents’ shop and was a moment away from getting on a plane to join the Islamic State in Syria,...

For your information, I know Giora Eiland and think he’s usually a pretty smart guy who thinks outside the box, has innovative ideas and lots of experience with Israel’s IDF and security.

Now and then, he seems to be a bit off track.

You can decide for yourself in this op-ed from

Op-ed: Israeli-Palestinian negotiations reached a deadlock not because of Gaza or Hamas, but due to major gaps between the sides in regards to Judea and Samaria's future.

The conference dealing with ways to rebuild Gaza...

Would… could France make a mistake regarding Arabs?

Stop laughing.

As one of their own legislators recently stated, recognizing a Palestinian State would be a serious error in judgment.

From Arutz Sheva:

France is making a grave mistake in saying it will recognize a Palestinian state if peace talks fail, French MP Meir Habib said Wednesday.

"Europe and France specifically refuse to recognize the reality and think that if they recognize a Palestinian state, the conflict will end. When will they wake up? The free world...

Whenever one sees a photo of the Temple Mount in Jerusalem, the eye almost always goes to the Dome of the Rock. Sitting south of that is the sort of shabby domed Al Aqsa Mosque, reportedly the third most important Muslim site in Islam.

Be that as it may, this was the scene recently of Israel police and the new kind of terrorists in Jerusalem.

It was also the site of terrorists confronting the security forces in one of my novels on Kindle.

The new breed doesn’t wave AK-47s. They have large stones for hurling and fireworks and...

I’ve purposely left the photo large so you can clearly see the plaque on a Bethlehem TV owner’s wall. It shows that there is no Israel in the Palestinian map. It’s all Palestine and Israel has been eradicated.

That’s the plan. Get it in your mind. The idea of a West Bank Arab state beside an Israeli state is nonsense.

As you read the following interview from Moshe Ya’alon, Israel’s Defense Minister, you should grasp the idea.

This is from Arutz Sheva:

'Palestinians want to destroy the Jewish state'

No one wants to be in Defense...
