If you are looking at the US scene today, then you are either in deep angst as an Obama supporter over all the mess that the President knew nothing about, or you are furious about the “political class” that Thomas Sowell mentions in this screengrab.

You may excoriate me for saying it, but being a prisoner of war does not make a hero out of a man for life. John McCain seems to be the poster boy for foolish statement, from telling us that Hillary was a great Secretary of State, just because she carried Obama’s water to the above statement...

On Monday the Israeli newspaper Ma’ariv presented an editorial with an interesting take on Middle East events and Iran:

“Ma'ariv asserts that many of the major powers' intelligence services now realize that, "Iran's strategic goal is not the destruction of Israel with nuclear weapons, but taking over the oil-producing states – Saudi Arabia, Iraq and the Persian Gulf states." The author says, "The determined Iranian campaign to reach the status of a nuclear power by exploiting the political weakness of the Obama administration, which is trying with all...

What’s Abbas up to now? He made an agreement to side with Syrian President Bashar Assad according to Debka.com’s recent article.

And he coupled that with stopping the arrangement whereby Israel and the PA’s security forces work together.

Why? Is Abbas thinking of working somehow with the Syrians to strike out at Israel?

The details are from the brains at Debka:

Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas this week signed a secret

“This targeted strike, based on IDF intelligence and advanced air force capabilities, is an immediate response to the terrorist aggression and its infrastructure in Gaza,” spokesman Lt. Col. Peter Lerner said in a statement after the attack. “Hamas must take responsibility for these actions or pay the price for inaction. We will continue to safeguard the civilians of the State of Israel, and prevent future attempts of terrorism formulating in the Gaza Strip.”

After two rockets were fired at the port city of Ashkelon, the Israeli jets let Hamas know they were visible with a raid that hit two hidden rocket...

We don’t listen to Rush Limbaugh in Israel, and only rarely in the States, but when we do there are times that I have to admit he makes more sense than virtually all the US government combined.

So we offer you this tidbit (You can get the article by clicking on the hyperlink) that tells the bean counters agree with Rush.

Then comes the question that is on so many regular Americans’ minds: Why is it that regular...

Khaled Mashaal has traveled. He was kicked out of Jordan. And Damascus. And not allowed into Egypt. Now he may – this is our guess – move to Turkey?

What with Turkey’s Erdogan getting flakier and flakier and doing more to slap Israel, it wouldn’t surprise us at all to see him invite the leader to take up residence in Turkey.

The Tower, TIP’s publication has this to say:

After Hamas Meeting, Experts Wonder If Turkey Doubling Down On Terror Sponsorship

Remember these guys? Corrupt, convoluted and cozy with President Obama.

We were told they were dead in the water, but not so fast.

“Judicial Watch has uncovered documents showing that Bruce Dorpalen, a key former Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now (ACORN) operative, is still advising President Barack Obama’s administration years after the organization was shuttered by scandal.

We ran the story of the Iranian spy who was nabbed in Tel Aviv recently. Now it looks like Iran will be grabbing at least ten Iranians who were spying for Israel, thanks to the Turkish government.

Almost as convoluted as the facts themselves, the stories that have been flashing across news wires are filled with how the Turks decided to “out” the Israeli spies in Persia.

Before we go there, though, are two bits of data: The US has apparently decided to nix the shipment of drones to Turkey over the incident.

Seems the Turks involved the US in the tattling,...

This photo is taken atop city hall. It shows but a small part of Jerusalem.

Today is election day for the city. Mayor Nir Barkat is running against a newcomer who thinks he can do a better job.

As one who doesn’t have a dog in this fight, I will tell you that we have lived here under mayors going all the way back to Ehud Olmert.

He was one never to miss a photo op. In fact it was said that the most dangerous place to be in Jerusalem was between the mayor and a TV camera. The city streets were littered with trash and the only way you could tell elections...

The Times of Israel reported today that “The Ministerial Committee for Legislation voted on Sunday to support a bill that would require the approval of 80 MKs in order for the government to even begin negotiations on dividing or relinquishing any part of Jerusalem to the Palestinians.

“The committee voted 5-4 to support the bill, sponsored by MK Yaakov Litzman (United Torah Judaism), with ministers from Yesh Atid and Hatnua voting against and ministers from Likud-Beytenu and Jewish Home supporting it.”

Here’s the challenge: Justice Minister Tzipi Livni...
