I started writing when I was sixteen years old, when the late Senator Paul Simon took a chance on a kid who was working his way through high school.

Let me share a factual story:

My typing teacher allowed me to unofficially work on the “Railroader” yearbook staff because I could type and most of the others were terrible.

When she asked me what I wanted to do with my budding life, I said “Write like Ernie Pyle.” He was the first of my writing heroes – a WWII war correspondent.

She replied with, “Then why don’t you go to the newspaper and get a job?” That was...

Okay, I told you so.

Back when the flow was to believe in global warming I wrote an article about how it was lunacy. Like believing in evolution.

There was no proof of either, but let’s stick with global warming for now.

If you are an Algore fan, or so insecure that you find yourself going along with the majority in all things discussed, then we urge you to read the article below.

In the meantime, a word from yours truly. This whole thing was money driven!

Here’s the scoop. Government grants fuel all kinds of idiocy. If you doubt it,...

Isn’t it amazing how some people seem to be so naïve when it comes to assessing the behaviors of bad guys, the mentally ill, etc.?

We recently read an article that said that notifying people who were mentally ill that they should not possess firearms would make them keep away from them. What?!

Surely the person who wrote that originally had a couple of screws loose, too.

Speaking of which, we come to the United Nations.

The latest “Arms Treaty” is supposed to be harmless to the American 2nd Amendment, but make peace sprout around the world. Two wrong ideas.

Just click on the cover photo and you will be taken to our Amazon page. There you can buy this great book (said humbly, but honestly).

For all of you who don’t read fiction, this one’s for you. It’s full of real-life history from the Old West. Actual people who share their experiences about living in the early days of the West. It has outlaws, Indians, some comments on the Cavalry, and more.

Then for you Bible readers, there is a good exposition on the spiritual high ground of owning and using a firearm for self-defense, or the defense...

Here is an in-depth appraisal of Israel’s offshore gas finds and what it could mean for the nation. We know that many of our readers know about the find, but this piece will provide lots more information, and even a peek into the future.

It’s from Dore Gold’s Jerusalem Center for Public Affairs and it’s long, so you may want to refill your coffee cup.

Joe Klein is anything but a conservative. I’ve read him for years, mostly with a sense of astonishment that a man who can put words together so well remains liberal. Or, as the new hide-out word for liberal is – progressive.

How is it that liberals cannot just come out of the closet and proclaim loudly that they are for abortion, gun grabbing, big government, higher taxes, illegal immigration, anti-capitalism, etc.? Why not just fess up and let the Kool Aide drinkers know who you are?

Because that would be the death-knell of liberalism, socialism,...

There are all sorts of idiocy out in the media today regarding guns.

One legislator who actually crafted a state law was caught on film telling a meeting that large capacity magazines had to be banned because once the bullets were fired it was no longer useable. She likely would not even have recognized a magazine had she been handed one.

And there is little doubt that firearms are dangerous. Just as speeding locomotives, cars, rat poison, and river water, they must be dealt with judiciously and learnedly.

But where have you heard about firearms also...

As the photo seems to demonstrate, there is a reach, but not the grasp. For some time now President (for life?) Mahmoud Abbas and Prime Minister Salam Fayyad have been at odds. The western nations (US and EU) forced Abbas to bring him into government because they were tired of the rampant corruption in the Palestinian Authority.

ASIDE: Hamas ran in the last election and promised to end the corruption. Abbas shoved them aside eventually, and in 2007 there was the Gaza coup which ended Fatah (PA) rule there. That didn’t work out well for the Gazans. Recent efforts...

This tube sitting in the stern of a US Navy ship is not a piece of PCV pipe. It’s a laser capable of shooting down aircraft such as drones. Or any other kind, no doubt.

In a Navy report on the system, “… it is preparing to deploy a new weapon that can disable a hostile boat and even destroy a surveillance drone overhead — all without dispensing any expensive ammunition.

“The USS Ponce, an amphibious transport docking ship, will be the first Navy vessel to deploy with the LaWS, officials announced Monday.”

According to reports, the ship which was scheduled for 2014 is now headed to the Persian Gulf.

“Last week I went to Jericho,” so states Michael Gould, the UK envoy to Israel. He then proceeds to tell what wonderful chaps the PA security forces are.

We are not in agreement.

Please read the op-ed piece from Ynetnews.com, then we will return with some brief commentary:

Future is in Jericho

Op-ed: UK envoy in Israel explains why his country invests so much in training Palestinian security forces
