door.entering Some of you may remember that after the 9/11 attacks, Israel was one of the first nations to come to the aid of the United States with terrorism training, hardening security at airports and on airliners.

For as long as Israel has existed they have been at war. It was the nations surrounding the little country in the beginning. Israel comprises less than one percent of the land held by Muslims, and six of those nations sent their armies against it in May of 1948.

But Israel had been battling insurgents from Jordan, Syria, Lebanon, Egypt and even Iraq for years before that. If you read the biography...

We have been on an extended sabbatical as some of you know. Health issues; but what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger. Now we are on the mend and ready to share with you some of the events, people and politics of the Middle East, with the spotlight on Israel, as well as some commentary on other parts of the world as events draw our attention.

In Israel, Bibi is still the PM. The longest serving in Israel’s modern history. He has the confidence of the voting majority because they know that he works very hard to keep the nation safe.

Bibi and Trump have this in common...

A Palestinian youth uses a slingshot to hurl stones at Israeli forces during clashes near the border with Israel, east of Khan Younis in the southern Gaza Strip on June 8, 2018. (Said Khatib/AFP)

You won’t see this on the evening news.

Note the headband. Hamas, the puppet of Iran in Gaza. It always amazed me that the terrorists are willing to sacrifice their people for a headline.

That headline is that Israel is a monster and killing “innocents” at the fence that separates Israel from Gaza. Of course the fence is the first barrier to protect the civilians who live and farm scant distances away.

We have visit the kibbutzim and seen the horrible damage that Hamas rockets do when they explode in and near the homes, schools and playgrounds. Little children...

There have been some interesting events in Israel recently and in Gaza.

Perhaps the most exciting event in Israel is the opening of the moved United States’ Embassy.

On a hillside in south Jerusalem is the location of the latest US Consulate. It resides next to the Ramat Rachael Kibbutz, in Arnona.

There are actually two consulates in Jerusalem. One is located on Agron Street, near the Leonardo Hotel (the old Sheraton), and across the street from Independence Park.

The other is, as we said, in Arnona, and with some adjustments, is the location of the Embassy, which has been moved from Tel Aviv.

The current site is really a stop-gap situation until more new construction is completed.

A friend recently asked me if the move was a good thing. Like almost everything, that depends on your perspective.

Israelis, left and right-leaning are excited about the new situation.

President Donald Trump issued the...

Facebook has been filled with photos and video of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu beside an Israeli Air Force officer as they apply an Israel Star to the fuselage of a shiny new F-35 fighter. Two of fifty destined for Israel arrived this week, just before Bibi went to visit Azerbaijan.

It won’t hurt his creds any that he now has two jets capable of sneaking into Iran should the need arrive. Of course there will be weeks of training for the crews, technicians, etc. before the stealth fighters...

Amona’s entrance.

“On Monday evening, opposition leader Isaac Herzog warned it sets the stage for nothing less than “national suicide,” while Jewish Home head Naftali Bennett championed it as paving the path to expanding Israeli sovereignty into the West Bank.” (Times of Israel)

The so called Regulation Bill isn’t law – yet – and not in any final form, but it is already getting lots of hearts hopeful and some more than a little resentful.

It’s all about Israel annexing...

With the look of an angry raptor, retired Army Lt. Gen. Mike Flynn has been one of my favorites in the military intelligence community for a long time. His last job was as Director of the Defense Intelligence Agency. President Obama broomed him because he wouldn’t toe the mark like so many of the current Pentagon brass.

As some of our readers know, who also read our Jake Crabtree series of adventure novels, Jake and his...
